Sandos Caracol Day 3

Today is our last day at Sandos Caracol even though it was only a couple of days it felt longer in a good way.

We started with breakfast at the Royal Elite Members Restaurant, then I got us a couch by the pool while the rest went to finish packing and get checked out.  We hung out by the pool for a while, had lunch enjoyed and time in the pool.

Samual who is the Restaurant Manager stopped by to say good bye to us.  He was managing the International Buffet for the day as that manager was off for the day. So happy he stopped to se us...he has been serving us for the last 4 visits and had gave us fabulous serves.  He is a great asset to the resort especially the Royal Elite Restaurant.

Our lunch table.....Pepperoni Pizza, Beef Sandwich, Shrimp Tempura, Cheeseburger and Shrimp Cockatil.  Oh the food is so good!!!

Said our good byes to our favorite waitress Grey.  She has served us on our last 3 visits and remembers who we are.  She is another great asset to the resort and the Royal Elite Restaurant.  Meagan had her Fujifilm Instamax camera with here so we took a couple of photos to give to her.  Grey was so thrilled to receive her photos.

After lunch we started making our way to the water slides with a couple of stops along the way.  Josh fell in love with the dogs....every time we seen them he stopped to pet them and show them some love.

A quick drink at the Snack Bar on the swings before heading to the slides.

Sandos Caracol - Day 2

Our day started a little than we wanted but hey we're on vacation.  We headed over to the restaurant for breakfast.  After breakfast we headed to the lobby to get a key replaced.  While up there we checked out the animal they have at the resort - donkeys, sheep, pigs - Coco & Sandy, chickens and rabbits.  We continued exploring the resort property!

We came across the Temazcal Spa on the resort.  I knew it was here but had never seen it until now.  Temazcal is a unique Mayan therapy to purify your body, mind and soul. This ancient tradition guides us to different levels of heat and steam generated by volcanic rocks and medicinal herbs in a spiritual athmosphere.   I definitely going to participate in this on our next visit to Sandos Caracol Eco Resort.  Think it would be a wonderful spiritual experience.

We continued exploring the paths when we found a small cenote on the property.  We found this at the perfect time as we were all feeling hot and was up for a refreshing swim in the Cenote.

After the Cenote swim we headed off towards the beach to the Select Club area.  It was a very windy day so they had the red flags up on the beach.  Never the less the views are wonderful and I love sitting with a cool drink enjoying the sound of the Caribbean!!

A few girls selling hand made items made their way up and down the beach.

Even the younger girls once out of school help their families earn money.

We ended Day 2 with supper at the Brazilian Restaurant.  I have to say I was so impressed with the improvements they have done here.  WOW what a difference from last year...night and day!  After last year's experience we had no desire to return for supper but it was the only restaurant we could get a 6pm reservation for, it was fate that we eat there to see the improvement.  We really enjoyed our meal.  We took our time and enjoyed every bite.

After supper we headed to the Lobby Bar to meet our Mexican Family for a visit and make plans for the upcoming week.  It was so great to see them again....we sure miss them.

Sandos Caracol - Arrival

We departed Saskatoon at 5:40am for Cancun Mexico an landed a half hour early.  We had a decent tail wind pushing us to Mexico.  The weather was sunny and warm.....okay it was hot!!  Cleared customs, gathered our luggage and through immigration and out the airport within an hour.  We were greeted by our transfer with cool clothes to cool off and freshen our faces.  We got to the resort shortly after 1pm.

We lucked out with one room ready so we were able to change out of our travel clothes into beach attire!!  Then it is off to the Royal Elite Members pool area!  We enjoyed our lunch by the pool....Shrimp Tempura, Buffalo Chicken Wings, Shrimp Cocktail, Calimari and Beef Sandwiches.  Yummmmmm. It was nice to see the servers we've met on previous trips.

We hit the beach....we found beach beds and enjoyed the view, even had a snooze listening to the sounds of the Caribbean Sea!!! Relaxation at it's best!!

The view from our balcony!!!  This is the best view we've had yet!  Seriously going to request this room on future visits!!
